What happened at Digifest 2026 at the Norfolk and Norwich?
Digifest 2026 brought a lively buzz and hundreds of staff to the East Atrium yesterday at the NNUH for a day packed with digital innovation, idea sharing and inspiration.
What’s more, there is still time to get involved – with one competition still running! See if you can spot yourself in our photos too!
Following two fantastic Digifest events at the James Paget and The Queen Elizabeth this month, it was the Norfolk and Norwich's turn to shine and show off some of the amazing digital tools already in use and those which could be on the way.
Staff from across our hospital and Group explored displays and talked to suppliers and teams from key projects including the new digital roadmap, the electronic patient record. Alertive, Imprivata, Sapphire, Solventum and DrDoctor.
They asked questions of the experts and discovered more about systems and suppliers such as the Shared Care Record, Miziac – Mediviewer, Huron, Philips Capsule and Meditech EXPANSE.

It wasn’t all work either - an opportunity to pose for a photograph with several different PAT dogs and their owners was popular, as were the free refreshments and many giveaways! Digifest visitors also tried the wellbeing team’s virtual reality headsets, finding themselves stepping into scenes such as a country meadow complete with butterflies and birds.

Paediatric Theatre deputy sister Dalia Mathew was among those who felt the headsets made for an enjoyable break from the day to day: “I think it is good, it is so different. It did feel as if I was in a meadow.” The headsets are available in our hospital now – pop into the Wellbeing Hub in the East Atrium to find out more.
Showing how digital tools are transforming patient care across our hospital and Group, the stands displayed next generation solutions along with devices, programmes, systems and processes available now.
Aishat Aileru, based in AMU, said she had a useful visit: “I have seen lots of things that are going to make our job easier on the ward.”
Digifest also included talks about the Digital Roadmap, from Solventurm and from the Shared Care Record team, and the atmosphere was buzzing all day as people popped by to check out new kit, ask questions and meet our own teams too including Virtual Ward, Clinical Safety, AI/BI and System Support.
Emily Browne, senior change agent and Digifest organiser, said she was delighted with the engagement from staff and suppliers: “It has been absolutely fantastic. People have been so interested in the digital solutions and technology being shown here, and very positive about the event. I am really grateful to everyone for coming and supporting this.”
If you missed the fun, don’t miss the competition! The digital health inspired crossword competition runs until June 26. Call into the EPR Hub (L1 Centre, just before Gunthorpe Ward) to enter and be in with a chance to win a £25 Amazon gift voucher.
Winners for the digital escape room competition and the feedback hub will be drawn on June 26.
