Home › Staff › Role: Estates & Facilities

Estates and Facilities teams keep our hospitals running safely and effectively every day. For most colleagues in these services, the EPR will not fundamentally change your day-to-day role, but it may change how you interact with clinical teams and access information needed to support patient care.

The impact of the EPR will vary depending on your role. Many Estates and Facilities colleagues will not use the system routinely, and the core responsibilities of your job will remain the same.

Where your work connects more closely with clinical services or patient areas, the EPR may change how some information is shared or how certain tasks are coordinated. Bringing patient information together in one system should also help clinical teams spend less time working across separate systems and processes.

If you do need to use the EPR as part of your role, you will receive training relevant to the tasks you need to carry out. You will not be expected to learn parts of the system that are not relevant to your work.

As workflows are developed, we’ll share more information about what the EPR means for different Estates and Facilities teams and what, if anything, you will need to do differently.

Estates & Facilities FAQs
