This demo gives an overview of the training staff will be offered to gain the skills they need to use our EPR.
Watch: the EPR training demo
A demo of the new learning management system (LMS) for EPR training was given during EPR Unlocked. It included an explanation of the training approach, which will be role-based and allocated using ESR data, so you will only see the courses meant for you.
Training has two parts: e-learning on the LMS, which must be completed first, and classroom sessions. Classroom bookings open in mid-December. E-learning opens about three weeks before each classroom session, from around mid-February. Classroom training starts in March and runs until the week before go-live, including over Easter.
Training time varies by role. Clinicians and most nurses are currently expected to need around eight hours in the classroom, although this figure may change.
The LMS lets you work through e-learning at your own pace, book classroom training at any of the three trusts, and download a certificate of completion.
Managers can track their team’s progress, and there will be support before, during and after go-live. Expect quick reference guides, the IT help desk and the implementation support team on hand to help with queries.
