Digital pharmacy team wins first prize

A pharmacy team proved it is among the best of the best with a first prize award in the annual Library Poster Competition.

The annual competition, run by the NNUH hospital Library and Knowledge Service and opened for the first time to colleagues across the NNUHFT, Paget and Queen Elizabeth Hospital sites, attracted 77 entries from staff and students across the Group.

This year’s theme was “Every Department has a story, show us yours” and the Digital Pharmacy Team was delighted to be one of the three winners, with the Cardiology Team from the QEH and the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Staff Network from Paget.

The team, of EPR and EPMA (Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration) created a poster and video about the work of the Pharmacy Digital Team at the NNUH.

Niezl Concina, based in the EPR programme’s pharmacy team, led the challenge, which included filming and editing the video. She said it was a journey of discovery.

“As someone who had only recently joined the team, I initially wondered how I could accurately showcase a department I was still getting to know. Coming from a nursing and teaching background, I had very little understanding of what the Pharmacy Digital Team did behind the scenes.

“Creating the poster became more than just a competition entry, it became a journey of discovery,” she explained. Niezl filmed each team member individually, gathering an understanding of their roles and expertise.

“What stood out to me most was how such a small team delivers such a remarkable impact across the organisation,” she says. That helped shape the concept for the poster as she chose to feature the individuals in the team rather than listing accomplishments.

“I genuinely enjoyed filming my colleagues and bringing their stories together into something that represented who they are and what they do,” she added.
