Watch this recording for a relaxed first look at our electronic patient record and see how colleagues in different roles across the NWUHG will log in and find their patients.
This first EPR Unlocked online demo gives a general look at our MEDITECH EPR, it’s an introduction to the look and feel of the system
It explains how your login reflects your role. Access is linked to your Trust account and set by your job role, the area you work in and where you are based.
See how the patient chart is the hub for everything about a patient, including summaries, activity, trends and clinical documentation.
Doctors will use the acute status board, a rounds list showing key information at a glance. Nurses, allied health professionals and healthcare assistants will work mainly from the patient care status board, with lists of patients under their care and the next interventions due. Admin staff may have different access to the patient record, reached from the registration screens.
The demo explains how our EPR is more than a computer version of the brown folder. Administrative processes, how medicines are prescribed and administered, and day-to-day care on wards and in outpatients will all change.
- Your login reflects your role. Your access is linked to your Trust account and set by your job role, the area you work in and where you are based, so you only see the menus you need.
- Doctors start from the acute status board. Its rounds list shows key information at a glance, including location, resuscitation status, length of stay, problems and early warning scores.
- Nurses, allied health professionals and healthcare assistants work from the patient care status board. It shows the patients under your care and the next interventions due.
- The patient chart brings everything together. It holds current and past information, including summaries, trends and notes from colleagues.
- The EPR changes how we work, not just where we record things. Administrative processes, prescribing and administering medicines, and day-to-day ward and outpatient care will all change.
- There are plenty of ways to find out more. Watch the other recorded demos, book a drop-in with your Trust’s change team, or ask them to visit your area.
